Hobby limitations

Same product as everyone else — with hard caps and a few things we simply do not run yet. No fake features behind a lock.

Size

At most 2 workspaces you own, 1 agents per workspace, 3 apps per agent, and 3 team members. Hitting a cap blocks create — it does not queue or silently upgrade.

Hosts and OS

You bring the machine. Fleet deploys code (clone → install → build → start). Packages, Docker, Postgres, firewalls, disk, and patches stay yours. Hobby does not provision VMs or managed databases.

Process Watcher & Auto-Healing

Process Watcher and crash recovery are enabled by default for all workspaces during the v1 Beta. The agent continuously monitors child PIDs and performs automated healing on unexpected exits.

Uptime

No SLA. Agents must stay online for deploys and heartbeats. If the agent is down, Fleet cannot start or stop processes on that host.

Personal workspaces

Personal = solo. No invites, no Members page. Team workspaces get invites and roles, and still count against the same Hobby caps.

Disk & Worktree Management

Each deploy checks out an isolated worktree on the host. Automatic background GC prunes stale worktrees safely based on configurable intervals.

Workspaces: Personal vs Team

A workspace is an org. Hobby allows a small number of owned workspaces — types differ.

Personal

  • No Members page — you can’t invite teammates here
  • Not a team: roles / invites don’t apply
  • Your solo space for agents, services, deploys
  • You still own agents/services under this workspace

Think laptop-of-one. Shared work → create a Team workspace instead.

Team

  • Members + invites
  • Roles / permissions inside the workspace
  • Same agent & service caps as Hobby (agents/workspace, apps/agent)
  • Counts toward “workspaces you own” if you create it

This is where teammates share agents and deploys — not personal.
